Top Floor Ocean View Under the Sea Room King with En-Suite

Magical experience, book this gem if you can! Positive: Staying here was one of the best and most serene lodging experiences I’ve ever had. Although it’s only about 7 minutes from all the shops and conveniences in Hilo, the farmstay feels worlds away—peaceful, magical, and surrounded by nature. The space itself is beautifully designed, spotless, and full of charm. The grounds are lush and well-kept, with friendly animals and stunning ocean views that make the property feel extra special. We also appreciated having access to snorkeling and beach gear (chairs, towels, masks, fins, etc.) One of the highlights was the true farm-to-table breakfast—fresh, flavorful, and easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The hosts were away but Josh, the property manager was communicative and attentive, making the whole stay effortless and relaxing. If you’re looking for a place that combines comfort, beauty, authenticity, and a touch of magic, Hawaii Magic Skies is an absolute gem.

A peaceful, beautiful, and interesting refuge from the ordinary places to stay. Positive: Magic Skies is filled with incredible artwork, carvings, statues, and decor. The breakfast was incredibly amazing with eggs cooked just how I asked. The crispy bacon, delicious ham, and Josephs coffee was absolutely delicious, well worth the cost. Fresh fruit was on the kitchen counter. The view of the farm as well as the water was relaxing and lovely. We stayed in the "Under the Sea" room. Free access to washing machine and dryer were very welcome. Relaxing on the Lanai in the morning, rocking in a chair and watching the ocean was a good destress. Just everything was exceptional. Negative: It would have been nice to have an elevator to the top/third floor, but we managed the stairs just fine. I think, and think, but there is not a single thing more that I had problems with.

What a dreamy place! We were very lucky to be at Magic Skies when the tsunami warning was issued on July 29; we were both up high above the coast, and with a comforting host. We sat on the lanai in the gorgeous home and watched the ocean with anxiety. Fortunately, the big waves never materialized, and we went on to spend 5 nights at this fabulous place, lulled to sleep by cooing doves and awakening to the cheerful sound of little goats and happy Java finches. We went off on stunning adventures each day to Volanoes NP, to Kona and points west, to Akaka Falls and the tropical botanical garden on the Hamakua coast, and up on Mauna Kea, and returned each evening tired but happy. We would sit on the lanai with a Hawaiia beer and watch the light go down over the ocean. We were so lucky to have found this place to book, and not some big hotel in town! Mahalo!!
